Sudowrite does not belong in the same bracket as the porn generators around it, and saying so is the useful thing here: it is a mainstream AI writing assistant for novelists, covered by the New Yorker and the New York Times, that happens to also write adult scenes.

The tool is a fiction-writing environment — drafting, expanding, describing, rewriting, brainstorming plot and character — aimed at serious long-form authors, priced around $10 a month. Its adult capability is one use among many, reached through the same general-purpose model rather than a dedicated smut engine, and its own marketing is about writing books, not porn.

That framing matters for anyone arriving from a porn directory. This will write an erotic passage if asked, but it is built for and priced against novel-writing, so it is overkill and over-general for someone who only wants generated smut, and better than the purpose-built tools for someone who actually wants to write.

It is a legitimate creative-writing product with an adult side-door, not an adult product. Judge it as the fiction tool it is; the erotica is a capability, not the point.
