This is organised like a film library, and that is the point of it.

Film1k streams full-length erotic movies and softcore thrillers, and its navigation is a film navigation: genre in the conventional sense — thriller, horror, mystery, comedy, science fiction — plus a browse-by-country axis. Not acts, not body types. The unit is a feature with a running time and a plot, from the era when erotic cinema was a distribution category with its own production industry.

That makes it a genuinely different object from a tube. A ninety-minute softcore thriller is not a scene, and the audience for one is not looking for the same thing as the audience for a clip. The country index is the giveaway: European and Asian erotic cinema developed along different lines, and being able to browse that way is useful in a way a tag never is.

The collection leans historical, which is what the format implies — very little new work is produced in this mode.

Where the prints come from and under what rights is not addressed on the public pages, which for catalogue films with identifiable directors and distributors is a more pointed omission than it would be for anonymous clips.
