Scandal Planet publishes celebrity nudes, sex tapes and private material in the format of an entertainment blog — posts, popular rankings, a menu, the furniture of a news site. That presentation is the point. A leak site looks like what it is; a news site looks like it is reporting on something that happened.
The word scandal carries most of the weight. A scandal is something a person is caught in, implying conduct on their part that came to light. What is actually being described in most of these posts is a woman having her private photographs taken from her accounts, or her private recording passed on by someone she trusted with it. Those are things done to someone, not by them. Filing them under scandal relocates the fault to the person in the images, and does it so smoothly that most readers will not notice the move.
The blog format compounds it. Comments, rankings and popularity metrics turn a privacy violation into content with an engagement curve.
The material here was not published by the people in it. The vocabulary the site uses is designed to make that easy to forget.
