Ancensored collects nude and explicit scenes from mainstream movies and television — released productions with credited casts — indexed by celebrity, with recently-added and featured feeds and an interface in five languages. The material is acting work from commercially distributed films, which places it in an entirely different position from the leak archives it superficially resembles.

The multilingual interface points at an audience spread across markets, and for film scenes specifically that makes sense: European and Asian cinema handles nudity differently from Hollywood, and an archive with reach across those traditions covers ground a single-market site cannot.

What the archive does less well is credit the productions. Scenes are filed under who appears in them rather than under what they came from, which for material whose entire standing rests on being part of a released film is an odd thing to leave out — the title is the provenance.
