Fur Affinity is a creator-upload community — artists, writers and musicians posting their own work to their own galleries, with the audience following people rather than tags. It covers the full range of furry, scaled and feathered material, adult and otherwise, which means the community is the product and the artwork is what the community happens to make.

It runs on advertising plus FA+, a supporter tier at around fourteen dollars that funds the site rather than unlocking a content library. Paying gets you features and keeps the lights on; it does not buy access to anything that free users cannot see. For a site of this age and scale that is a fairly honest funding model, and the public changelog and announcements section are part of the same posture — decisions get argued about in the open.

What you should expect is a social platform's texture rather than an archive's. Discovery depends on following the right people, submissions arrive at whatever rate their creators manage, and the commentary around a piece is often part of why it is there.
